Coral Creature

The Coral Creature is a form of living coral, part plant and part animal, native to the reefs of the Guardian's Sea. It keeps to the shallows, settling in beds of ordinary coral that has no mind of its own. By blending into these beds, the creatures hide from anything that might hunt them. Despite their plantlike bodies, Coral Creatures are recognized as a sapient species. They can rise onto two legs, and their flexible hands allow them to work with simple tools. Those same hands serve at mealtime, when the creatures collect magically charged bubbles drifting up from nearby vents and consume them. Coral Creatures are social. They gather in large groups, and an entire community will settle across a single stretch of disguising reef.
