Crimson Raptor

Crimson Raptors are aggressive, bird-like reptilian creatures that make their home in the jungle of Summoner's Rift, gathering in the open clearings between its denser growth. Part bird and part reptile, they wear vibrant red plumage and carry sharp talons, a combination that makes them as striking to look at as they are dangerous to approach. A brood is led by a single large alpha raptor, with a cluster of smaller raptors following it. The raptors never fight alone. When an intruder enters their clearing, the whole brood turns at once, swarming and pecking from every side until the trespasser is driven off or brought down. It is this coordinated assault, rather than any single bird, that makes them dangerous out of proportion to their size. Among the creatures of the Summoner's Rift jungle, the Crimson Raptors are one of the most recognizable. Their clearing is a core stop for any hunter working the jungle, one that demands a challenger be ready for the entire swarm rather than a single target. At times, overcoming the brood rewards the victor with a heightened, sweeping awareness of the surrounding jungle.
