Frog
An amphibious magical beast of the wetlands that, when fused with a magical anomaly, becomes a hardy monster whose hide turns aside both blades and spells.
The frog is an amphibious magical beast that makes its home in wetlands and other places where magic gathers. It is a sentient animal, and common enough that most people think nothing of crossing paths with one. In magic-steeped glades where raw power runs strong, frogs collect in dense knots along the streams and pools.
Some varieties carry potent magic of their own. The bucket-frog is known for its tongue, which is coated in a slime that plunges anyone it touches into waking dreams. The effect is strong enough to serve as a weapon: when a pair of Noxian soldiers were hurled into a stream in one such glade, a knot of bucket-frogs set upon them, the slime enough to leave the men senseless. So slight is the ordinary frog, by contrast, that it has become a measure of helplessness before magic. At the height of her power, the yordle sorceress Lulu could turn the mightiest beasts into tiny, bewildered frogs with a flick of her staff.
The species takes on an entirely different form when a frog merges with a magical anomaly. That fusion produces a monster that bears little resemblance to the ordinary animal, hardy and able to hold up under heavy punishment. What sets the transformed creature apart is its hide: the skin turns aside even the sharpest blade, and it stands firm against the most powerful magic.
