Ibik

The Ibik is a rare, solitary herbivore of Mount Targon, a four-legged mammal that keeps to the mountain's lower plains rather than its high peaks. It lives apart from its own kind and grazes on the vegetation of the region, and its scarcity makes any sighting uncommon. The animal is valued above all for its milk, which is sweet and rich with fat and counted a delicacy by those who can obtain it. This prized milk is the trait for which the ibik is best known. The ibik passes each year through a season of hibernation. Its skin is rough and slate-gray, a coloring that lets it disappear against the boulders of the plains, and once it has settled to sleep the winter snowfall often buries it completely, hiding the resting creature until the cold season ends.
