Ixtal Sentinel

Ixtal Sentinels are massive insectoid guardians that patrol the dense jungles and borders of Ixtal, the hidden nation buried deep in the wilds of Runeterra. Enormous and heavily armored, they are among the defenders that keep the elemental kingdom sealed off from the outside world. Each Sentinel is protected by thick chitinous armor that has been enhanced with Ixtali elemental magic, leaving it nearly impervious to conventional weapons. Blades and arrows do little against a creature whose natural defenses have been reinforced by the elemental arts, and that resilience makes the Sentinels among the most formidable living barriers in the jungle. The Sentinels do not act alone. Ixtali mages command them, directing the creatures to ward off outsiders and drive back any who stray too close to the nation's edge. In doing so the Sentinels display the mastery of elemental magic that defines Ixtal itself, and they are among the reasons the nation has stayed hidden for so long, since few trespassers survive an encounter with them.
