Krugs
Animated stone golems that split into smaller versions when destroyed.
Krugs are small stone golems animated by magic, believed to be fragments of ancient earth magic held together by residual arcane energy. They are slow-moving but remarkably durable, and when one is shattered it does not simply die but splits into smaller copies of itself, so a single krug can become a scattering of lesser stones. In the jungles of Summoner's Rift they gather in rocky alcoves, forming one of the region's fixed camps that rewards patient clearing.
The creatures are not confined to the Rift. In the tale recorded as Stone Cold, they are described as stone creatures animated by magic, more at home living above a village than anywhere else, and a colony of them had settled even in the frozen reaches of the Freljord.
One such colony built its nest atop a frozen waterfall overlooking a Freljordian village. The nest choked the water's flow, damming the river that the settlement depended on and holding back what the yeti Willump called the Freljord's lifeblood. When Nunu and Willump came upon the frozen village, they turned the krugs' own perch against them. Gathering a vast snowball, the pair leapt to the top of the waterfall and tore the dam apart, and the krugs gave only a tiny chitter as the ice cracked and the river came rushing back down to the village below.
