Pengu

The pengu is Runeterra's penguin, a sapient creature found in the Freljord and adapted to life in cold climates. The species made its debut in 2015 as part of the Snowdown Showdown seasonal event. Since that first appearance, pengus have settled into an informal mascot role, turning up regularly and in varied forms whenever Snowdown Showdown returns. In Teamfight Tactics, Pengu holds the role of the game's chief mascot and can be taken onto the board as a playable Little Legend. The species has also been the subject of community humor. Pingu, a champion labeled as cancelled, began as a 2020 joke dreamed up by the League of Legends subreddit, and a later gag for 2025 and 2026 presented a free, limited-time skin during an event in League of Legends.
