Petricite Stag

Petricite Stags are ethereal, deer-like creatures of Demacia's ancient petricite groves and forests. Their antlers, and at times their bodies, are composed of or infused with petricite, the magic-absorbing stone found only in Demacia. Because of that bond, they draw in ambient magic as naturally as they breathe, making them living echoes of the stone that shapes their homeland. In the wildlands and borders patrolled by Quinn and her eagle Valor, the Wings of Demacia, herds of elkin roam Demacia's forests. These graceful stag-like creatures move alongside the towering petricite guardians that share the woods. The connection runs deeper than proximity, because the guardians' elegant forms were modeled on the living stags themselves. A guardian following a stag-mounted Ranger's lead will dwarf the living stag that inspired it, a reminder that Demacia's crafted defenses take their shape from the natural world they protect. The stags are rare and held sacred, symbols of the purity and strength Demacia prizes. They also embody the kingdom's contradictions. Demacia built its identity on petricite walls and the mageseeker purges of magic users, yet it reveres a creature whose entire nature is to absorb the magic the nation fears. In that sense the Petricite Stag mirrors Demacia's own architecture and anti-magic stance, a beast that holds within it the same power the kingdom has spent centuries trying to contain.
