Razorfin

Razorfins are predatory fish native to the warm coastal waters around Bilgewater and the Serpent Isles. Named for the blade-like fins and teeth that give the species its edge, a razorfin can slice through netting and flesh with equal ease, which makes it one of the most feared creatures of the region's shallows. The true danger of a razorfin lies less in the individual than in the school. Traveling in dense, coordinated groups, they can strip a carcass clean in moments, much as piranhas do. Water that churns with razorfin activity is a warning every Bilgewater sailor learns to read, because anyone who falls overboard near a feeding school has little chance of being pulled out alive. Among Bilgewater's many hazards, the razorfin holds a place among its most infamous predators, a fixture in the grim accounts of the port's fishers and pirates. It is small, but its numbers and its appetite make it lethal, a reminder that the waters around the Serpent Isles belong to their inhabitants as much as to any captain who dares to sail them.
