Tuskvore

Creature of Runeterra

It killed Quinn's twin brother Caleb, then returned a year later to attack her at his grave.

Tuskvores are large carnivorous predators native to the hinterlands of Demacia, counted among the region's deadliest game. A tuskvore is known for its thick hide, long horns, and ferocious temperament, and the greatest specimens grow to enormous size. The beasts are resilient and hard to bring down, able to shrug off arrows and press an attack even when grievously wounded. The creatures loom large in the story of the ranger Quinn, of the mountain hamlet of Uwendale in northeastern Demacia. Quinn and her twin brother Caleb, rangers for the village, were hired to guide a party of nobles from the capital on a hunt for a giant tuskvore. Led by Lord Barrett Buvelle, the hunters failed to kill the creature outright, and the wounded beast turned on them. Caleb's spear put out one of its eyes and Quinn drove it off with her arrows, but not before its horns gored her brother and killed him. A year after Caleb's death, the same tuskvore, marked by its single remaining eye, found Quinn grieving at her brother's grave and charged. Her arrows could not stop it, and she believed herself doomed until an azurite eagle, a breed long thought extinct, swept in and tore at the monster's face. The tuskvore's horns ripped into the bird's wing, but Quinn's final arrow flew straight down its throat and felled it in a heartbeat. She bound the wounded eagle's broken wing, named him Valor, and the bond forged in that fight against the beast set her on the path to knighthood.
