Voidgrub

Creature of Runeterra

Void-touched larval creatures that grant turret-pushing Voidmites when slain.

Voidgrubs are small, Void-touched larval creatures that burrow up out of the ground on Summoner's Rift. They appear in groups, a cluster of wriggling grubs that surface early in a match. Their restless, squirming forms mark them as spawn of the Void, larvae carrying its corruption up into the surface world. The grubs emerge in the baron-side pit during the early game, where they become a contested objective. Slaying a Voidgrub grants stacks of a buff, and those stacks call forth Voidmites, lesser Void creatures that swarm to a fighter's aid in pushing lanes and destroying turrets. Because that reward translates directly into lane-pushing power, the grubs draw aggressive top-side play toward the pit, and control over them can tilt the opening stage of a fight. More than a passing prize, the Voidgrubs are a sign of the Void's creeping influence on the Rift. Their presence marks the Void's encroachment on the natural world, a reminder that even Summoner's Rift is not beyond the reach of what stirs beneath it.
