Windfarer

The Windfarer is a creature of Ionia, counted among the mythical beasts said to keep to the region's high cliffsides. Every account places it within Ionia, where it favors the steep, wind-swept heights of the region's cliffs. Like others of Ionia's wildlife, the Windfarer is drawn to magically rich land and makes its home wherever that magic runs strongest. Rather than settling the tamer lowlands, it gravitates to the charged, magic-heavy places of the region, a habit that keeps it remote and seldom seen at close quarters. Though it is regarded as one of Ionia's more common creatures rather than a fearsome monster, the Windfarer has kept a mythic reputation. In the cliffside lore of Ionia it endures as a half-legendary shape carried on the wind, familiar in name yet rarely truly witnessed.
