Jaull Hunters

The Jaull Hunters are a guild of monster hunters based in Bilgewater, a port set among the Serpent Isles. They specialize in tracking and killing the massive sea creatures known as jaull-fish, along with the other deep-sea horrors that infest the surrounding waters. The guild is led not by a single commander but by various hunt captains, and its fearless mariners brave the most dangerous waters of the Serpent Isles in pursuit of the monsters that dwell there. Operating out of the Bilgewater docks, the Jaull Hunters trace their founding to the early days of Bilgewater itself. They risk their lives for glory, for profit, and for the protection of Bilgewater's shipping lanes, the trade routes on which the port depends. Among their allies are the pirate crews of Bilgewater, who share the same waters. The guild remains active and holds a notable place in the seafaring life of the city. The reputation of the Jaull Hunters is closely tied to the legend of Nautilus, whose own story is intertwined with the deep-sea terrors the guild pursues.
