Solari Faithful

The Solari Faithful are the broad congregation of sun worshippers who live on Mount Targon and follow the teachings of the Solari order. Where the Solari proper are the leadership and warrior-priests, the Faithful are the common believers: the pilgrims, monks, and devotees who form the bulk of the faith. They trace their roots to Ancient Targon, answer to the Solari high priests, and remain the dominant religious presence on the mountain, standing opposed to the Lunari. Their devotion is demanding and physical. Many make the treacherous climb up Targon's slopes in search of divine illumination, and it is this shared fervor that sustains the Solari's cultural hold over the mountain. Prayer runs through their daily life. On the lower peaks, shrine tenders keep their flames lit and attend the midday prayers that mark the rhythm of the faith. The Faithful are guarded by the Solari soldiers, Rakkor warriors who fight in defense of the Sun and those She has chosen. Acolytes train for years to earn a place among them, drilling in the phalanx and preparing for the trials that stand between them and the golden armor of those noble warriors. To be counted among the Solari infantry is to don that armor in protection of friends and family, and the most capable acolytes can rise to lead phalanxes of their own. Their soldiers' martial prowess is a source of open pride within the congregation, a display of the strength the faith puts in service of the Sun.
