Fae'lor
Syndra slept for decades beneath its fortress before tearing the tower loose and flying off.
Fae'lor is the westernmost island of the Ionian Archipelago, one of the Ionian lands that fell under Noxian control. A Noxian fortress was raised on it, its walls built directly over an older and far more dangerous secret buried in the island's bedrock.
That secret was Syndra. Her magical potential, fueled by frustration and betrayal, grew so vast that the Spirit of Ionia itself intervened against her. Never had such negative energy been so concentrated in one place, and the Spirit swelled to counter it, opening the bedrock beneath her and dragging her down to suppress her powers. There she was bound in a magical slumber deep beneath Fae'lor for decades.
She did not sleep forever. Freed during the chaos of the Ionian civil unrest, Syndra tore apart the walls of the fortress that had been built atop her prison. In a display of terrifying power she ripped the fortress of Fae'lor free of the island and raised its greatest tower into the skies to carry herself far away, resolved never to be controlled again.
What she left behind is an island ravaged by war and stripped bare by her power, its fortress torn from its foundations. Fae'lor remains an active but scarred place, still tied to the Noxian occupation of the archipelago and to the esoteric lore uncovered within the Noxian fortress that once stood on Syndra's prison.
