The Immortal Bastion stands at the center of Noxus Prime, a dark and imposing fortress that has served as the seat of power in the capital for centuries and remains one of the most recognizable symbols of the empire's might. Long before Noxus was founded, the warlord Mordekaiser raised the Bastion at the heart of his own conquered empire. Most who looked upon it assumed it was nothing more than a stronghold, but some came to know that it held far darker secrets. Beneath the Bastion lies its true purpose. Hidden in forbidden districts, behind gateways ringed with angular Ochnun inscriptions and littered with fragments of bone, the fortress functions as a great conduit. It draws the souls of the dead down into a well that plunges into the bedrock of Noxus, feeding them to Mitna Rachnun, the death realm Mordekaiser built beyond the veil. Suspended within that well hangs the empty husk of the Iron Revenant's armor, a reminder that the Bastion was always as much a machine of souls as a seat of rule. In the modern age the Immortal Bastion is the heart of the Noxian state, its lower reaches sealed away by decree of the council and watched by Legion patrols. Since Grand General Swain seized control of the empire, the fortress has become the stage for a hidden war. Those who understand what lies beneath it maneuver in the shadows, some laboring to prepare for Mordekaiser's inevitable return and others to prevent it. Above ground it projects the discipline and dominance of Noxus. Below, it keeps the empire's oldest and most dangerous secret.
