Kalamanda

Kalamanda is a city in the far north of Shurima, set at the northernmost reach of the desert realm. Though it belongs to Shurima, it stands well apart from the older heartland to the south, out along the region's upper edge. The city owes much of its growth to a discovery in the ground around it. A vast deposit of gold and gems was found near Kalamanda, and the promise of that wealth drew new inhabitants, swelling its population as word of the find spread. Kalamanda is connected to Azir and Camille, two figures whose stories reach into Shurima and beyond. Their ties to the city link this northern settlement to their histories. Kalamanda remains active in the present day, counted among the notable cities that mark the northern frontier of Shurima.
