Lavender Sea
Bel'Veth devoured an entire city named Belveth, reshaping its remains into this Void realm.
The Lavender Sea is the realm of the Void shaped by Bel'Veth, the Empress of the Void, from an entire city she devoured whole. She consumed the city of Belveth along with its people and surrounding seas, repurposing their matter and memory into a sprawling alien landscape, and took her own name from the place she had erased. It lies in the depths as an undulating purple sea, its shifting walls formed from everything she has swallowed, and it remains active and hungry, still spreading.
Beneath its living sky, strange inverted buildings jut from a light-dappled nothingness, and thick mutant coral bows as the empress passes. The sea is both Bel'Veth's domain and her body: her true shape is a city-sized leviathan lurking below its surface, though she can fold down into a deceptively beautiful humanoid form. Those the Void consumes become little more than salt for the Lavender Sea, their lives absorbed into a mind that holds the stolen memories of everyone who ever passed through the old city and races through hundreds of millions of possibilities in a single second.
Bel'Veth hungers endlessly for new experiences, concepts, and memories, devouring cities and populations and spreading even within the Void itself like a primordial ocean, until she turned her threat on Voidborn as ancient as Vel'Koz. Her prophet Malzahar feeds her: he opened a chasm beneath a tent city of his cultists and poured them all down into the sea, their memories winking out one by one as the thing being born below grew stronger on their erasure.
It was into this domain that Kai'Sa descended, following the xer'sai queen Rek'Sai into the depths. There Bel'Veth declared herself everything the Void had consumed, revealed that Kai'Sa's father was among the only survivors still living, and offered an alliance against the imprisoned Watchers, whom she named a far greater threat than herself. Judging Kai'Sa a tool rather than a danger, the empress let her go. The Lavender Sea still threatens to wash over all of Runeterra, reaching toward the corrupted lands of Icathia and the Shuriman desert beyond.
