Mount Targon Summit

Mount Targon Summit crowns the tallest mountain in Runeterra, marking the point where the physical world meets the celestial realm. It is counted among the region of Targon's landmarks, and despite the perils of its height it remains inhabited by those drawn to its power. The path to the peak is an impossible climb, and few who attempt it survive. Those who do may be chosen by a celestial Aspect to become its mortal vessel, serving as the living host for that Aspect's power. For this reason the summit is remembered as the place where mortals meet the Aspects, standing face to face with the beings of the celestial realm. Several of Runeterra's most storied figures have made the ascent. Pantheon, Leona, and Diana each climbed to the summit, and their journeys are remembered in the peak's history as Pantheon's Ascent, Leona's Ascent, and Diana's Ascent. The summit is also the place where Atreus reclaimed the Aspect of War. At such heights the summit shimmers with cosmic energy, and time itself behaves strangely, bending in ways unknown to the world below.
