Raikkon
Birthplace of Xin Zhao, whose fishing crew was seized by Noxian privateers in foreign waters.
Raikkon is a coastal Ionian settlement at the southern tip of the island of Zhyun. It is best known as the birthplace of Xin Zhao, but its name also travels through Ionia in more everyday ways: the wild berries that grow there are crushed into rich pigments prized by tattoo masters such as Bo'lii of Weh'le, who blends them with enchanted flower petals gathered only from the southern faces of the Vlonqo cliffs.
Some of Xin Zhao's earliest memories are of the Viscero, an Ionian fishing boat he served aboard off the coast of Raikkon. As a diligent cabin boy he obeyed his elders in everything, from scrubbing grimy decks to mending tangled nets, and lived a peaceful existence until the day the crew unknowingly strayed too deep into foreign waters. A pair of Noxian privateer ships ran the smaller vessel down, and their commander, citing the glory of the empire, claimed the Viscero and its crew, mostly aging fishermen unfit for military service, as his rightful property. Carried across the open ocean to the capital of Noxus and separated from his shipmates, Xin Zhao was left with no means of returning home.
The settlement also serves as a departure point for those who work the coasts and the sea beyond. Lucian, hunting the Black Mist of the Harrowing across the world, began one of his excursions at Raikkon before it drew him south to Sudaro and then out across the vast ocean, where he lost sight of the storm off the coast of the Shadow Isles.
