Ring of The Mountain

Location in Runeterra

Climbers begin here, the lowest tier of Targon beneath the Upper Slopes and the Peak.

The Ring of the Mountain is the lowest of the tiers that make up Mount Targon, the great peak at the heart of the region that shares the mountain's name. Targon rises in a series of vertical bands, and the Ring occupies the base of that ascent, below the Upper Slopes and, higher still, the summit called The Peak. As the outermost of these regions, it is the ground where any climb toward the mountain's heights begins, rather than part of the rarefied reaches near the top. The Ring is bound in memory to Diana, Leona, and Pantheon, figures whose histories are tied to Mount Targon and its slopes. The region remains active, and among the mountain's named places it is counted as notable. Lying beneath the Upper Slopes and The Peak, it serves as the threshold through which the mountain's higher and more forbidding regions are reached.
