Shuriman Jungle

The Shuriman Jungle is a vast tropical forest in the eastern reaches of the Shuriman continent, lying within the region of Ixtal. Its dense forests are home to many strange and dangerous creatures, and it remains a wild and active place. In ages past the jungle was part of the empire of Shurima. When that empire fell away, no great mortal civilization proved able to gain a lasting foothold in the forest, with the sole exception of Ixtal, the ancient magical autocracy whose people learned to endure and rule amid its green depths. The Ixtali hold apart precisely because the jungle has resisted almost every other power that sought to claim it. Many figures are tied to the Shuriman Jungle. Ivern speaks of a past incident he calls the Kumungu affair, still laying the blame for it on another. Mel was present during the conquest of the Binan palace, and the dragon Yvva, a dragon mother, hails from the forest. Beyond these, a wide range of champions are associated with the jungle, among them Shyvana, Nidalee, Rengar, Qiyana, Neeko, Zyra, and Kha'Zix, as well as Ezreal and Twisted Fate.
