Sudaro

Sudaro is one of the smaller islands of Ionia, sitting at the southern end of the Ionian Archipelago. It belongs to the Houhjo region, which it shares with the island of Galrin. The island enters record through Lucian, who spent months tracking the Harrowing and the Black Mist across the seas of Valoran. One of his excursions began in Raikkon and carried him south to Sudaro. There he crossed paths with the Black Mist, and the encounter sent him racing across the vast ocean, only to lose sight of the storm off the coast of the Shadow Isles. Easterly winds then carried him on to the Serpentine Delta, where he at last caught up to it. On the charts that covered the walls and ceiling of Lucian's schooner, Sudaro stood as one of dozens of markers, a northern point in Ionia joined by twine to the Shadow Isles and the delta. It formed part of the record of failures and near-misses he had plotted over years of hunting the Black Mist to save Senna. Sudaro remains active.
