The City of Gardens

The City of Gardens was a settlement in southern Shurima, in the region of Sai Faraj. Once a thriving and beautiful city, it survives now only as ruins, one of many places wiped from the living world during the Rune Wars. The Rune Wars ended only when the greatest civilizations of Runeterra had all but destroyed one another. The world was left scarred, its geography rewritten, and entire cities erased from history. The City of Gardens was among those lost. Long after the fighting ceased, Ryze passed through the wreckage of the city. With his master dead and the war over, he had inherited the burden of scouring the world for the last of the World Runes, binding each of them in secret places far from greedy eyes, and one such search carried him through these ruins. The remains of the City of Gardens can still be found on the map of Runeterra, a permanent reminder of the war's cost, and a ruin it remains.
