Thresh's Prison

Location in Runeterra

Spectral prison where Thresh eternally tortures collected souls.

Thresh's Prison is a nightmarish structure within the Shadow Isles, the private domain of Thresh, the Chain Warden. Here he keeps the souls he has collected, holding them for torment without end. Every spirit gathered into the prison is bound to suffer eternally at his hands. The prison is a thing of two worlds at once, existing partly in the physical realm and partly in the spectral one. Within it, chains and lanterns serve as its bars, binding the tormented spirits fast and tethering each soul to the place and to its keeper. No captive is granted a quick end. Each is kept in exquisite, unending agony, and that suffering is the whole purpose of the place, for the anguish of the trapped souls feeds Thresh's sadistic pleasure. Two events define the prison's history. The first is Thresh's own transformation into a specter, the change that made him the Chain Warden and set him to his eternal work. The second is his endless collection of souls, the countless spirits he has drawn into captivity over the ages. The structure is now sealed, a notable and dreaded fixture of the Shadow Isles where the souls Thresh has claimed remain shut away in torment.
