Chrono Magic is the extraordinarily rare ability to perceive and manipulate the flow of time itself. Its foremost practitioner is Zilean, the Chronokeeper, who discovered chronomancy among the advanced magical theories of ancient Icathia. When the Void consumed his homeland, his attempt to reverse the catastrophe shattered his own timeline instead, scattering his consciousness across all of time at once. He now perceives past, present, and future as a single moment, a burden driving him toward incoherence even as he works, determined and caring, to save Runeterra from annihilation. When he channels the power, his eyes glow pupilless and a clocklike mechanism turns in the air behind him. Ekko reaches a similar effect differently. A Zaunite boy genius, he built the Zero Drive from scavenged Hextech parts, rewinding short intervals of time through ingenuity rather than any inborn gift. Its precise reversal lets him undo almost any mistake instantly, making him nearly undefeatable, though it can only reach so far back and strains both machine and wielder with each use. As a discipline, chrono magic offers the ultimate strategic advantage, yet it is the most dangerous art known: it breeds paradoxes that strain reality, and any large-scale attempt to bend time risks catastrophic, unpredictable consequences.
