Yordle Glamour

Yordle Glamour is the innate magical disguise carried by every yordle, an automatic enchantment that makes these small, furry beings appear as ordinary humans to mortal observers. Because most onlookers simply perceive a yordle as a short, eccentric person, the race can move through human society without drawing attention or betraying its otherworldly nature. The glamour developed as an evolutionary adaptation once yordles began venturing out of Bandle City into the mortal realm. Bandle City lies within the Spirit Realm and connects to the physical world only through unstable portals, and when a yordle crosses over, its spiritual nature generates a passive enchantment that reshapes how others perceive it. This is not a deliberate act of will but an automatic defense, shielding small and vulnerable creatures from being identified as otherworldly by the larger, often hostile inhabitants of Runeterra. Because it demands no effort or concentration, the glamour affects all non-magical observers at once and is extremely difficult to see through, subtly coloring how yordles are felt as well as seen so that they read as harmless and unremarkable. Its protection has clear limits. Mages, spirits, and other magical beings can often see past it, strong emotion or magical disruption can make it flicker, and it alters perception rather than physical reality, so a yordle beneath it can still be grabbed, measured, or photographed as they truly are. It also does nothing to conceal overtly magical actions. Its bearers include Teemo, who ranges freely across Runeterra under his glamour's protection; Lulu, whose time among the fae in the Glade amplified her magic far beyond simple disguise; and Vex, who, unusually for a yordle, finds her own innate cheerfulness and glamour deeply irritating and prefers shadow and gloom.
