Celestial

Celestial is the collective name given to beings whose origin lies in the Celestial Realm, a place situated outside Runeterra itself. They belong to the earliest generation of existence, having emerged during what is called the Realm of Creation, and this ancient origin sets them apart from anything native to the physical or spiritual realms. Nothing about their nature maps cleanly onto mortal or spirit life, and encountering one means encountering something genuinely foreign. The category holds no single body plan or shape. Aspects stand at one end of it, existing as living embodiments of concepts and ideals rather than as ordinary creatures. Celestial Dragons occupy another part of the same category, and they engage with events on Runeterra according to reasoning that mortals cannot follow. Whatever form a Celestial takes, it remains sapient, and it belongs to no parent species. Their tongue is simply called Celestial. Champions tied to the Celestial category span a wide range of the known world. Aatrox, Aphelios, Aurelion Sol, Bard, Diana, Kayle, Leona, Morgana, Nami, Nasus, Pantheon, Soraka, Taric, Veigar, and Zoe all carry a connection to it. The category is classified among the mortal races, one of the six groupings used to sort the peoples of Runeterra alongside transformed, spiritual, artificial, cosmic, and void.
