Troll

Trolls are a humanoid species with a coarse, brutish appearance, found in the Freljord and in Shurima. The best documented of them are the frost-trolls of the far north, who tend toward blue skin and organize themselves into tribes. In recent times those northern tribes have turned toward open conflict, gathering their strength behind Trundle, who rules them as Troll King. They are not a single population. Sand-trolls make their home in Shurima and Ixtal, and giant-trolls are found in isolated pockets across Valoran. Neither group has a known population count, and to most people living in the present day they belong to legend rather than to the world as it is. This is why the species carries a mythic standing: the frost-trolls remain a visible presence, while their southern and scattered relatives survive mainly in stories. Troll speech is recorded in three forms, a Troll tongue alongside Freljordian and Shuriman, matching the two regions the species occupies. Their presence reaches well beyond their own kind, and champions including Ashe, Braum, Darius, Ezreal, Jax, Lux, Ornn, Ryze, Trundle, Tryndamere, and Vayne are all connected to them.
