Shimmer Vials

Shimmer is a volatile chemtech substance brewed in the undercity of Zaun, a glowing purple compound that grants its user temporary superhuman strength and resilience. That power comes at a terrible cost. Prolonged use ruins body and mind alike, driving mutation, madness, and a dependency that few ever escape. The compound was developed through chemical experimentation in Zaun's underground laboratories, and refined above all by the chemist Singed. It is his most infamous creation. Once a respected scholar of Piltover, Singed descended into the chem-work of the undercity, and now, fueled by madness, he never stops laboring on some new experiment, each one more depraved than the one before. Shimmer became far more than a chemist's curiosity. It let the chembarons turn Zaun into a playground of their own, and under Silco it grew into a controlled substance and the economic backbone of the undercity's criminal networks. What began as an experiment now sustains an empire, still produced and still coursing through the veins of Zaun.
