The Darkin Harp
A sealed Darkin instrument that lures victims with its entrancing, corrupting melody.
The Darkin Harp is a sealed Darkin artifact chronicled in Legends of Runeterra. Like every weapon of its kind, it holds the imprisoned consciousness of a corrupted Ascended, a once-mighty being reduced to an object that hungers to wear living flesh again.
What sets the harp apart from the bladed darkin is its method. It sounds an entrancing melody that draws victims steadily closer, and once a listener has come near enough, the Darkin sealed within reaches out to bond with and consume its host. Where other darkin are taken up in the heat of battle, this one hunts by seduction, its music the lure and the mortal who follows it the prey.
The corrupted Ascended inside was bound into harp form during the Darkin War, caught in the same purge that trapped its kind across Runeterra. Those who imprisoned it understood how readily its song could ensnare the unwary, and so the harp was hidden away, kept from mortal hands so that none would fall under its influence. It remains sealed to this day, a Shuriman relic of the Ascended who turned monstrous.
