Azir: Champion Spotlight
Overview The Azir Champion Spotlight is an official gameplay preview for League of Legends, released in September 2014. The spotlight introduces the Emperor of the Sands , the resurrected ruler of ancient Shurima who commands an army of sand soldiers. The Champion Azir is the last emperor of ancient Shurima — a ruler who was betrayed at the moment of his Ascension by his closest friend, the slave-born mage Xerath . The resulting catastrophe destroyed Shurima's capital and buried the empire beneath the desert.
